Growing up in Canton, Georgia, Dr. Madison Alvey was inspired by her father, Dr. Chris Alvey, who practiced veterinary medicine for more than 30 years. Watching the impact he made on dogs and the families who loved them helped shape her own passion for veterinary medicine from an early age.

Dr. Alvey earned her undergraduate degree in Animal Health before receiving her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Georgia. Today, she serves as Lead Veterinarian at Good Dog Veterinary Care East Cobb, where she is dedicated to helping dogs live long, healthy, and comfortable lives through preventive care, advanced diagnostics, dentistry, surgery, and personalized treatment plans.

Her primary professional interest is cardiology and cardiac diagnostics. Over the past several years, she has completed extensive continuing education focused on echocardiography and abdominal ultrasound, completing more than 90 hours of advanced training. She enjoys helping families better understand complex medical conditions and guiding them through treatment decisions with clarity and compassion.

Dr. Alvey has experience performing and interpreting echocardiograms, EKGs, Holter monitoring studies, and abdominal ultrasounds. She particularly enjoys using advanced diagnostic tools to identify underlying conditions early and develop treatment plans that improve both quality of life and long-term outcomes.

In addition to her interest in cardiology, Dr. Alvey enjoys dentistry, soft tissue surgery, ophthalmology, diagnostic imaging, and preventive medicine. She has a special appreciation for helping medically complex patients receive the care they need safely and comfortably, including patients requiring dental procedures alongside management of underlying cardiac conditions.

Her approach to veterinary medicine is centered on building strong relationships with both dogs and their families.
