Born and raised in Marietta, Georgia, Dr. Alex York is proud to care for the dogs and families of the community she has always called home. A proud "Double Dawg," she earned both her undergraduate degree in Animal Science and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Georgia.
Today, Dr. York cares for patients at Good Dog Veterinary Care West Cobb, where she enjoys developing lasting relationships with dogs and their families throughout every stage of life. She believes one of the greatest rewards of veterinary medicine is partnering with owners over the years to help their dogs live healthier, happier lives.
Her primary professional interest is dermatology. She also enjoys soft tissue surgery, preventive medicine, and client education, with a special passion for helping new puppy owners build a strong foundation for lifelong health and wellness.
Dr. York has completed advanced ultrasound training and values combining preventive care, thoughtful communication, and personalized treatment plans to help every dog receive the care they deserve.
Her approach to veterinary medicine is centered on building strong relationships with both dogs and their families.
"I believe the best veterinary care comes from building lasting relationships with families through open communication, collaboration, and personalized care throughout a dog's lifetime."
For Dr. York, veterinary medicine is about building lifelong partnerships with families while helping dogs stay healthy through every stage of life. She enjoys getting to know each dog as an individual and working closely with owners to provide personalized care that supports lifelong health and happiness.
Outside the clinic, Dr. York enjoys spending Saturdays in Athens cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs, lake days with family and friends, traveling, and hosting game nights filled with good food and great company. She and her husband, Austin, also love spending time with their two Labrador Retrievers, Ruby, and Dame.
